56 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2023 Quilting Enthusiasts Fall is just around the corner and it's time to start quilting. We're calling all quilters, want-to-be quilters, want-to-know-more about quilting, anything quilting related, come check us out! We have show-n-tell, talk about upcoming shows in California, share projects, answer questions about fabric and sewing machines, and occasionally have classes on various quilting-related techniques. Mark your calendars for Sept. 14 (we meet the second Thursday of each month), and join us at 1 pm in Arts & Crafts Room #2; snacks will be available, hint, hint. We are also inviting anyone who sews — you don't have to be a quilter to come join us and for open sit-n-sew on the third Thursday of each month. Arts & Crafts Room #2 is reserved for the third Thursday of each month for open sewing. We look forward to welcoming back the regulars, the newbies, and the sewers! Finally, I want to announce that there will be a quilt show in September of 2024. A theme has been selected so watch this space for details. She took a piecing basics class from a local quilt shop and this is her first quilt! She put a type of duck cloth on the back side so that she and her husband, Larry, can use it when they go on picnics. Diane edged the quilt with "prairie points." Beautifully done! is quilt won the award for "Best Use of Color" for the theme "Celebration of Color" at the July 2023 International Quilt Show at the Long Beach Convention Center At right: Zebras in techno color! is quilt was also at the Long Beach International Quilt Show. e use of color in this quilt really went with the theme, Celebration of Color. It's stunning!
