42 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2023 Tails & Trails - All Pets ALERT FOR ALL FOUR SEASONS PET OWNERS! We are experiencing a critical situation. Are you aware that between the Four Seasons, Sun Lakes, and Seneca Springs communities, 33 pets have been killed by coyotes and bobcats? That is the number that has been reported to the Four Seasons Tails and Trails group but the number may be higher. These wild animals inhabit the areas surrounding us and they are very comfortable coming into our community. They can scale the highest fence. They are able to leap on to rooftops. They are not afraid of humans. They frequent our trails, seeking food sources. Walking your pet off leash here is a very dangerous practice. Coyotes have been known to grab small dogs within seconds. Also, if you are using a retractable leash while walking your dog, you may not have control of your pet should a wild animal appear. Using a doggie door in your home can also lead to tragic circumstances. If you allow a small pet to go in and out of the house freely, without supervision, it may fall prey to a predator. Many of the pets killed at Four Seasons were taken from their own yards. We cannot stress this strongly enough: no pet should ever be left unattended in the yard. If your pet is lost or missing, you should contact the Four Seasons Tails and Trails group immediately at (951) 663-7012. We have a recovery team set up to assist all residents and we have been very successful in reuniting lost pets with their owners. In addition, you should contact The Lodge staff and let them know that your pet is missing. Their phone number is (951) 769- 6358. Please be vigilant in taking care of your pets and preventing them serious harm. ~ Vivian Walker, vivr@sbcglobal.net August's gathering was fantastic with over 30 cars, trucks, and hot rods showing up. The temperature was pleasant and not too hot, and the ice coffee available instead of hot coffee was refreshing. We had a great turnout of Corvettes and Porsches. One Porsche in particular stood out and received a lot of attention. Owned by Tom and Susan Conigliaro, it's a beautiful all original gray 1968 912 Porsche, powered by the original 1.6 Litre H4. Tom and Susan have owned their Porsche for more than 30 years. The Four Seasons Veterans Car Show will be held Saturday, Nov. 11. Rick Morales, Cindy Graves, and I are still working out the details and will publish details as we move forward. Please put this date on your calendar. Last year's show was a huge success, and we are expecting this year's show to be even better. Speaking of car shows, the "Wheels and Wings" car show presented by Corvettes West is on Saturday, Oct. 21 at the March Field Air Museum. It is open to ALL cars, trucks, and motorcycles — not just Corvettes. If you are interested in attending, please see me, Rick,or Greg Messick (951) 205-1125 for additional information. We meet the first Saturday of each month at 9 am at The Lodge parking lot. Our next meeting will be Saturday, Sept. 2. Please join us for some coffee and donuts and some great conversation with other car enthusiasts. For more information, please contact Frank Morales at (951) 203-4578 or fmoralesjrinc@aol.com or Rick Morales at (951) 255-4710 or onemth53@yahoo.com. ~ Frank Morales Cars & Coffee Tom and Susan Conigliaro with their 1968 Porsche 912 Our August Cars & Coffee gathering Cars & Coffee salute to a great morning
