e Tennis group held a tennis tournament on July 15 to celebrate the Wimbledon Tennis finals held in England that weekend.
All the us wore white, and aer the match we celebrated with strawberries and cream and champagne. John Knitter brought a
picture of the doubles team he played on back in 1991. e tournament was Wimbledon West, played in Newport Beach, CA. It
was a 4.5 division and John and his partner, Jeff, won the match.
Our doubles teams were Bruce Copeland and Suzie Britton, Joey Santiago and Jeanne Bender, Judy Brackin and Darla Gonzales,
Annie Noblett and Bernard Alexander, John Gonzales and Judy Alexander, and Kevin Petka and Heidi Schumaker.
e overall winners were Judy Brackin and Darla Gonzales. Everyone had a great time playing, and we all hope to have another
tournament for the US Open finals.
