| LIFE IN SOLERA | SEPTEMBER 2023 | 5 September is here and it has been a busy summer for our ambassadors who have been busy welcoming new residents. In the past three months we have presented five or more Welcome books. This number is usually about half of the actual new residents. We would like to encourage all new residents who have not requested a Welcome book to do so. Simply notify the office that you would like one. Just a little reminder of what kind of information you will find in the Welcome book. It contains specific information about Solera including the current Budget, Audit, Community Rules, Design Guidelines, Clubs/Groups schedule and information, schedule for the Advisory Committees, and more. Additional information includes being prepared for emergencies, phone numbers for the Beaumont area restaurants, airports, hospitals, theaters, and much more. Every resident in Solera is invited to attend our semi-annual Social Gathering. This event has two parts: the Social includes light refreshments while meeting other residents and representatives from our clubs/groups. The second part is a presentation of "Living in a HOA." Any resident who has never lived in a HOA before is encouraged to attend, and all new residents, whether you have lived in a HOA or not. The presentation includes the Laws and Rules the HOA must follow, how the budget is made and works, the responsibilities of the Board, Management Company, and the residents, and you will be able to ask questions about living in our HOA. Although the Concert on the Greens is over for the summer, the Recreation Activities Advisory Committee (RAAC) and our Recreation Director, Christina Moore, continue to provide monthly activities and events. The activities and events are listed in this magazine, posted on the Solera website, and announced by eBlast. Attending these activities is either free or priced at a breakeven amount. Many of the events are sold out quickly, so mark your calendars and join the fun. Solera is a very active community, and we appreciate the RAAC and Christina's hard work in presenting the many events we all enjoy throughout the year. Thank you to our ambassadors for everything they do in making our new residents feel welcomed to our community. ~ Marcia Casem, Chairperson, New Resident Welcome Advisory Committee Welcome Committee
