| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2023 | 9 Paseo and Singh Court Project Updates September marks the beginning of autumn, and for Hemet it oen means continued warm weather for several more weeks. e summer and early autumn heat remains a challenge for some of our landscaping. As we have continued to do this summer, we identify dead plants and trees that need replacement. In general, dead plants are removed but replacement plants are not planted until cooler weather sets in, usually in October. If you have questions about plant replacement, please contact Maria Donti. In July, Artistic Landscaping began removing sod along the East Legends Paseo and at Singh Basin. We applied for EMWD and City of Hemet rebates to replace the sod with waterwise landscaping for these reasons: • ese areas use potable water, and cost more than the Common Areas that use recycled water. • Converting a spray irrigation system to a drip system reduces the amount of water needed for maintaining a waterwise landscape. • Rebate money offset over 90% of the cost of re-landscaping and re-irrigating these areas. • Continual gopher damage resulted in increased costs of reseeding or re-sodding the grass in both areas. Plants, rocks, mulch, and a drip system are being installed in both project areas. It will take time to determine which plants will grow this summer and whether we will need additional plants. We will have a better idea next spring as the plants take hold and grow. Recently, there was a Town Hall Meeting with Legend homeowners and residents in which they shared their opinions, ideas, and concerns about the landscaping around the Legend homes. e Landscape Committee thanks those residents for taking the time to come to the meeting. Follow-up communication will be sent to all Legend residents once the Committee has had a chance to review the input from the meeting. Lastly, one of our committee members, Debbie Stafford, has resigned. We want to thank Debbie for her work and effort on the Landscape Committee and our community. We will continue to recruit for the vacancy on our committee, until it is filled. We are extremely interested in having Legends homeowners apply to the Committee to maintain and enhance their voice on matters of Landscaping not only in the Legends, but other Common areas as well. Please contact Maria Donti at Maria.Donti@fsresidential.com to apply to be a member of the Landscape Committee. Yellow yarrow is one of the flowering plants used in the paseo project.
