"I can smell Autumn dancing in the breeze, e sweet chill of pumpkin, and crisp sunburnt leaves." ~ Ann Drake "October is crisp days and cool nights, a time to curl up around the dancing flames and sink into a good book." ~ John Sinor e library staff is excited to announce that they will be hosting the November Aernoon with Authors Series featuring Brett Crozier who will discuss his book, Surf When You Can. e book shares some inspiring lessons learned from a lifetime of courage, honor, and leadership when he served as a renowned Navy officer, and former commanding officer of the aircra carrier USS eodore Roosevelt. Captain Crozier grew up in California. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy and embarked on a 30-year career in the Navy. He flew dozens of combat missions over Iraq and led the highest levels of operational command, including serving as commanding officer of a combat F/A-18 fighter squadron, one of the world's largest and most advanced communications ships, and finally the USS eodore Roosevelt before retiring from the Navy in 2022. Crozier now reflects on his life, career, and commitment to doing the right thing in his book, Surf When You Can. rough a series of captivating stories set all around the world, Crozier takes us along on the grand adventures of his extraordinary career and introduces us to the amazing people he met along the way. is book celebrates the power of kindness, and the importance of teamwork. e author reminds us of the lessons in life, loyalty, and leadership.
