Woodchucks
As the days are getting shorter, the "Holidaze" are getting
closer and some of us may be thinking of hibernating; we here
at the Woodchucks' Shop are already counting down to our busy
Christmas Toy season. Our master toy builders and assistants are
gearing up as the year is winding down. Many toys have already
been completed and yet more toys are in the works. Progress is
being made daily. Toys are usually completed by anksgiving
and are delivered to Camp Pendleton soon aer.
We Woodchucks are proud of our community involvement.
We appreciate the opportunity to give our time and efforts to
"Serve ose Who So Bravely Serve Us." In addition to our Camp
Pendleton Christmas Toy Drive, our projects right here in OHCC
include making free security window rods, building special items
for clubs and staff, and hosting the annual Flea Market. Speaking
of time and effort, we can always use volunteers, especially
as we count down to the Toy Drive. If you would like to get
involved, experience is not necessary, and many tasks just require
commitment and patience.
Not all Woodchucks are toy builders. Our well-equipped shop
is available to all OHCC residents to work on their own artistic
ventures as well as home improvements and those honey-do
projects on your list. All you have to do is become a member,
watch a safety video, and complete a shop orientation. Ask for
forms at the Clubhouse desk.
Please feel free to contact Tom Murphy or Larry to see if there is
a woodworking project you would like help with.
