54 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2023 Quilting Enthusiasts The dog days of summer are just about over and the fabric stashes are calling to us quilters saying, "It's time to start cutting fabric and get busy sewing!" I don't know about all of you but I am very happy that the triple digits are over for this year. Now it's time to clean, oil the sewing machine, grab a new spool of thread, put a new needle in, and start sewing. I can't wait to see what new designs our wonderful group of quilters come up with this next year. The quilting enthusiasts have been asked to make a quilt for the Cars & Coffee Veterans Day Car Show raffle. At right is a picture of the center panel of the quilt. I won't show you the finished quilt as I don't even know what it will look like until it's done. Enjoy this image and thank a Veteran for our freedom. I know that most of you have asked about the Quilting Enthusiasts Quilt Show, and the answer is "yes" — we are planning on a show for 2024! As soon as we have a date figured out, we will let you all know via the Breeze. We will start planning on a theme in January of 2024. More details to follow. In closing, we welcome all levels of quilters, want-to-be quilters, or anyone who wants to learn about quilting whether it's by hand, such as English Paper Piecing, hand appliqué, hand quilting, machine piecing, and machine quilting. Ceramics class has something for the novice crafter looking for a new hobby, or someone who has experience and wants to create their own unique design, and those who want to create pieces for friends and family. In addition to individual projects, we also offer class projects throughout the year to teach new techniques. Come and join in the fun. Drop by the Arts & Crafts Room to see our monthly ceramics class schedule and learn about our upcoming class projects. We gather on Wednesdays from 1 to 4 pm. Please see class schedule for any exceptions. A certified instructor and/or an experienced class team leader is available to support your crafting needs.
