| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | OCTOBER 2023 | 15
Our trip to Encinitas on Aug. 31 was another
fabulous outing. With 24 attending, our first
stop was to the much anticipated V & H Nursery
in Rancho Santa Fe. A Plumeria Nursery
specializing in hybrid variety plumeria, grown
for our dry, desert climate. We learned a lot,
and were quite impressed with how large and
beautiful these trees can be. From there we enjoyed lunch on
the patio of Casa de Bandini in South Carlsbad. e San Diego
Botanical Garden, (formally Quail Botanical Gardens) was also a
not to miss location. From there we retraced our steps from a
trip last summer to Cal Pacific Orchids, where many of us brought
home beautiful orchids. Enjoy the pictures!
September's 20th Anniversary Celebration on the Plaza was
a grand event as we joined in the festivities as a Club. Also in
September some of us escaped the heat on Saturday the 16th
heading to Idyllwild for the Historical Society's Annual Home
Tour.
October's meeting on Mon., Oct. 9 at 1 pm will
be in our member, Terry Makeig's home, at 7820
January Dr. We will kick off the autumn season
working together to make pumpkin succulent
centerpieces. On Oct. 14, some of us will head
back to Idyllwild for the Annual Art Walk & Wine
Tasting Tour. And on Wed., Oct. 25, we will visit
the Citrus Museum in Riverside, having lunch before heading
home. All Four Seasons residents are welcome to attend meetings
and trips. You do not need to be a member, nor do we charge dues.
Sharing gardening tips, traveling together, learning from each
other, and cultivating forever friendships are the blooms growing
in our gardens. Late Bloomers meets every second Monday of the
month at 1 pm, usually followed by an excursion planned later in
the month.
