Already another month has passed — time does fly. It's caught me off guard and I don't have an interesting PB story for you. But I do have some awesome pickleball players to brag about who won our monthly tournament. We had a total of 16 players signed up, and as always, everyone brings the best snacks. It is appreciated so much; thank you to all who keep us replenished during our games. Here goes the name dropping, with the winners for our September tournament as follows: Scott Ross won for the men's division. Marguerite Kurator won for the women's division. Susan Sepersky and Randy Schaaf tied for the win in the mixed doubles. Well done, everyone! We are enjoying our pickleball games and loving all the fun and nice people we get to play with. I hope some of you get a chance to watch us play to see if pickleball is something you would like to try. If interested, please feel free to give Scott Ross a call at 310-213-3362 and he will give you free lessons! He is a great teacher, player and tournament organizer. Be careful on the courts, and until next time, keep having fun perfecting your pickleball game. But most importantly, have fun! Good Ole Boys is the quiet, unnoticed golfing group that plays every Monday morning year-round. With 25+ players each week, we have the highest annual participation of any golfing group in e Colony. It's been a great way to meet new residents, start up a sport/pastime, get exercise, and also important, to support Cal Oaks Golf Course. Join us! Come and play in a non-competitive and fun weekly exercise with new and old friends – and even if not yet friends, we are all old! Plus, we are not just playing at Cal Oaks. is past June, we traveled to Camp Pendleton Marine Memorial Golf Course for a tournament there. And on August 24, we joined with the Colony Men's Golf Club to enjoy an away event at Welk Golf Resort in Escondido, where eight teams vied for group prizes and individuals vied for Closest to e Pin bragging rights. Good Ole Boys provided early morning donuts for a sugar boost and CMGC provided a nice lunch.
