| THE COLONY NEWS | OCTOBER 2023 | 37
It looks like we are heading for cooler weather and
everyone is in the mood to play. Today I counted 40 people
using the paddle and pickle courts, with eight more players
on the tennis courts, and that was just between the hours of
7 to 9 am! We are so very fortunate to have these facilities in
our community. Please come and join us on the courts. New
players are always welcome, or you can just come down and
watch. Be careful though, you just might get hooked.
A good time was had by all at the monthly paddle tennis
tournament. Glenn and Joanie Sailer were our hosts and did
a great job. Glenn even did the pairings, and obviously he did
them very well, since the women had a three-way tie between
Jeanne Bender, Judy Brackin and Karen Nichols. Mark
Tamayo took the most games in the men's group. Congrats
to all!
If it hasn't been clear to you before, the Racquet Club likes
to play, and even more importantly, we like to eat! ank you
to Loretta Woolner, Joanie Sailer and Sue Steele for putting
together our lovely dinner event. And a shout out to Harriet
Henderson and Cece Gordon for hosting our "Pretty in Pink"
ladies potluck in August. You are all very much appreciated.
