| LIFE IN SOLERA | OCTOBER 2023 | 7 SECURITY CAMERAS Several homeowners have inquired about security cameras, specifically - as to what is in the DRC Guidelines. 5.2 Security/Surveillance Cameras (HIA Permit Required) states that cameras shall be "fixed view" without panning capabilities and shall be installed so as to only observe/record the immediate vicinity of the Homeowner's residence and Lot. Cameras may not be directed toward, or record the activity of, another neighboring residence or Association property. A maximum of six cameras are allowed; one positioned at the front and rear door entry's and one on each side of the residence. Cameras that include motion detector lighting shall ensure that lights are not directed toward neighboring property and conform to Exterior Lighting 5.10 requirements. Specifications of cameras are detailed on pages 10 and 11 (5.2 Security/Surveillance Cameras) in the DRC Guidelines found on the Solera Oak Valley Greens website. Since many deliveries are at our front door and the doorbell is not rung, homeowners want to know when deliveries are made. Entry door 'doorbell type' security cameras, such as Ring, Nest, Vivint, etc., that record the vicinity of the entryway, do not require Design Review Committee approval. These are available online or at local stores for $50 to $100+ (depending on the capabilities). Installation is extra.
