Happy Halloween! Come join us for our annual Halloween dinner and costume parade meeting, Oct. 20 at 5:30 pm in the South Clubhouse. Enjoy a bowl of beef stew, cornbread, green salad and Halloween cupcakes. The entertainment is the wonderful Tin Man's Heart. We will be having a Halloween Costume Parade with three prizes. So wear your favorite costume. Plus we will have a $10 gift card door prize. Dinner for members will be $20, guests are $24. Yearly membership dues are $15, but if you join now, it is only $7.50 for the rest of the year. For dinner reservations, bring your check to Barbara Semic at 2299 Wailea Beach by Oct. 12. For membership, bring your check to Kymm Terlau at 5971 Brookside. Make all checks payable to Social Singles. Call Shelly Arons at (951) 267-1291 if you want to attend the Oct. 20 dinner or Sat., Oct. 27 lunch. Young at Heart Good grief, we went from 100 plus weather to rain, fires, and then tropical storm Hilary! Hopefully all of you are fine and are surviving this crazy weather. We had our "Hot August Night" event. Purple Sunset was a big hit again. They are such a wonderful band and play the music everyone enjoys. Boy, did we have the appetizers! I can't believe we had such an array of great food. There was a bottle of margaritas for each table to enjoy. So on to our future events: Oct. 29: Wine event (North Clubhouse) a flyer will be sent out to members. This is a first-come first-serve basis and 40 people maximum. We are changing this a bit. We will be serving a four- course meal, with wine pairings for each course. The cost is $48 pp (members only). Nov. 19: Dueling Pianos is back by popular demand. This event is open to all Sun Lakes residents and their guests. The cost is $15 per person for members and $20 for non members. You may drop your checks off to Theresa Van Haren at 6029 Turnberry. More info to follow. December: Dark Jan. 28: NFL Playoffs and Chili Cook-Off, more to follow Don't forget, you must be a member in order to attend any of our events.
