The November dinner will be Nov. 4, with the duo of Lisa and Lori performing for $20 per person and the deadline for that event is Oct. 29. Our September gathering featured Generations, the brothers of Kenny and Chris Montez. The event was sold out and we had to turn people away. We so hate to have to do that but it was truly an indication of how overwhelmingly popular this duo (sometimes trio) is. The 80s Plus Club went wild over them and I even heard oohs and aahs from the other room and saw our attendees (both men and women alike) acting like groupies to Generations when they did their Temptations moves. I saw both tears and laughter from the audience. Chris started off with Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, they continued with Too Young, Unforgettable, My Girl, At e Hop and many more. Once again, the comments from the crowd afterwards were overwhelmingly positive in wanting them back. I promised to bring them back soon. To say "we love you, Kenny and Chris!" is such an understatement. You are truly amazing! Again, there is no event in October due to scheduling conflicts with the room but Nov. 4 we will be back with the very popular duo of Lisa and Lori. Our November and December prices are $20 so get your checks for $20 per person to Donna Harrington at 5393 Riviera for your reservations before Oct. 29. This will be for the full Thanksgiving dinner so sign up early. If sold out, we will remove the payment box and you'll see a note advising sold out. If you plan to send a check to Donna be sure to have a phone number on it so we can contact you. We're always at the South Clubhouse and people begin arriving at 2:30 pm to get checked in and get their seats and the program starts at 3 pm. Please make your checks out to 80s Plus Club. Our December event will be held on Dec. 2 and will feature Elixir, the husband and wife team of Dix and Ellen Hennecke. Line dance instruction will restart Oct. 23! Have you watched people line dancing and thought "I'd like to be able to dance like that?" Well, you're in luck, as we have a delightful instructor who has taught us for seven years and knows how to pace the lessons for our age group. Classes will be from 6:30 to 8 pm each Monday. There is no charge for your first class. After that, classes are $3 each. Our yearly membership dues are $20. Line dancing is not only fun, but a wonderful form of exercise for your body and your mind.
