62 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | SEPTEMBER 2023 | Did you know that you do not need to own a motor home, or travel trailer, to belong to the RV Club? Almost all of the campgrounds we travel to have cottages that can be rented. This makes it possible for those without a motor home or trailer to come and participate in the fun, and festivities that are available. If you're not a member and want to join our club, you can contact us at SunLakesRVClub@gmail.com. On Oct. 15, we will have our business meeting and pizza party at the South Clubhouse. We will be setting everything up at 4 pm, with gathering and refreshments at 5 pm, BYOB. The meeting will start at 5:30 pm. At this meeting we will be previewing the new Sun Lakes RV Club jackets and polo shirts. Different sizes will be available for members to try on the different sizes, and order forms will be available so be sure to bring your checkbook. Food will be served at 6 pm with games and entertainment from approximately 7 to 8 pm. Hope to see everyone there. We will also be covering a proposed trip that would precede our September 2024 trip to Zion. What is being considered is an extended trip going to Cody, WY, Yellowstone, Deadwood, Black Hills, Rafter Bar "J", Flaming Gorge, and then to Zion. More to follow at the meeting. This could be a great opportunity to see more of the country and visit some historic sites. Our fall rally is still being organized. The location may possibly change due to cost. Emerald Desert Resort in Palm Desert has raised their prices, so the trail bosses and board are looking for a location for this rally that will be easier on our wallets. On Dec. 10 will be our Annual Christmas Party at the South Clubhouse. Sandi and Richard have volunteered to organize this and will be needing volunteers to help. This will also be an opportunity for you to donate an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots. Last year was a complete success with over two tables completely covered with your donations. Here's a birthday wish to all of our members with a birthday in October.
