| THE COLONY NEWS | NOVEMBER 2023 | 3 From the Desk of Bruce Dalfonso, President I am writing this article after a very successful Colony vote for the Board of Directors. A big thank you to all who participated in this year's election. It is important that our members be invested and actively engaged in the community by electing to the Board those candidates that are believed will best conduct the business affairs of The Colony. The Golf Course litigation continues with two dates in October from which we are anxiously awaiting judicial decisions. The Closing statements for the Fraudulent Conveyance Trial were due on October 6. October 20th was the hearing for the terms of the Foreclosure Sale. While the judge has 90 days to make a ruling, we are hoping for his decision on both by November 1. On another note, have you driven by the finger on Florita at the intersection of Primavera? We have a few residents who have taken on the project of maintaining that finger, and it looks WONDERFUL! They have now cleared it out from one end to the other, to where if you look down the finger you can actually see through to the golf course! A big thank you to all those who have committed to take on this project to enhance this area for the enjoyment of all residents. By the time you get this edition of e Colony News, the Emergency Preparedness Committee Container will have been turned 90 degrees to eliminate some of the unsightliness of it. The side that remains exposed to the homes on Corte Cordoba will be covered in greenery and new landscaping will be planted to help conceal it. We are also looking into creating space next to the container to park carts for those using the pool. Many people now park their carts within the fire lane, and this will help keep that lane open for emergency vehicle access. November starts a very busy time of the year as we enter the Holiday Season. I know that Kara and the Social Committee are working hard on the social events, the Christmas Ball, and the New Year's Eve Party. Add on to that the many clubs and committees that hold their Holiday gatherings here, it will keep the Community Center a very busy place. Our residents do a great job of supporting and respecting all the events, both public and private. Let's keep that Holiday Spirit alive through November, December and beyond. It's one of the many things that makes The Colony one of the best 55+ communities in Southern California.
