| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | NOVEMBER 2023 | 17 "With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning!" It seems apparent that the dialogue at Four Seasons is monopolized with discussions of medical conditions relating to our friends, neighbors, spouses, and ourselves. These conversations were unheard of during our earlier years. YES, we are aging, and some of us are struggling with unpleasant, even unheard of occurring medical issues! But, on the other hand, we are fortunate to live in a safe, secure neighborhood where we can walk the streets alone day and night. Socially, we have a community reinforced with oodles of clubs, concerts, movies, sports' facilities, and even an on-site dining area. On a more personal level, our Sunshine Team works with individuals who have specific needs: our welcome team greets new residents, our telephone team checks people with recent medical issue, our card team mails out appropriate cards on an ongoing basis. Our Kindness Award team honors individuals who have gone 'above and beyond' to help others. Our three celebration of life teams ease the burden of a loved one dying while uniting friends and relatives of the deceased. We even have a team who delivers prepaid Bistro orders directly to our housebound neighbors' doorsteps! Our 90th birthday party, honoring our golden residents who have achieved and are living in their ninth decade of life is a joyous celebration shared by our community. Also, Sunshine's vaccine clinics, run in conjunction with our local Rite Aid pharmacy afford our residents the ability to receive their shots in a timely, organized fashion. Then our yearly Health Fair offers on-site screening opportunities as well as recognizing our county's many outreach facilities… So for an aging community with constantly changing needs, it doesn't get better than living here in Four Seasons. So, my friends, age gracefully, knowing that SUNSHINE CARES. We were notified of the passing of Harold Rowden, Darrell Tiffin and Art Horne. Team Sunshine has reached out to these families to offer our condolences and assistance if needed. How to contact Team Sunshine: Caring connection cards with details of Team Sunshine's services are available at the front desk, or you may call one of our two co-chairs: Brenda Beers at(951) 306- 6670 or Margie Culton at (951) 491-4058. Closing quote: "There is a fountain of youth. It is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age." ~ Sophia Loren Team Sunshine 20th Anniversary
