FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2023 27 At our September meeting, we were fortunate to have a presentation on the history of the Four Seasons Conservancy by Len Tavernetti, Chairman of the Ad Hoc Conservancy Committee. During this presentation, Len provided us with information on the Conservancy adjacent to our property. We learned that in June 2004, by resolution of the Beaumont City Council, a habitat conservation area was established to be managed, monitored, and maintained in perpetuity within the Potrero Creek drainage area – Trail A, Trail B, and Trail F follow the Potrero Creek conservation area from Potrero Bridge to Highland Springs. The HOA's responsibilities in the Conservation Area include: • Quarterly site inspection, fencing, and signage maintenance • Major trash removal • Erosion repair • Maintenance of the irrigation system and management of irrigation • Quarterly non-native species eradication and weed control in the buffer zone • Maintenance of hardscape features in the easement We owe our thanks and gratitude to Len Tavernetti whose dedicated oversight has been instrumental in helping to maintain the natural beauty of our Conservancy. In October, we had a presentation by Luren Dickinson, Beaumont Library Director, who discussed plans for the renovation and expansion of our hometown library facility. In November, the Beaumont City Fire Marshal, will provide us with an update of the fire maps for our community. For your information… It is important for EMS first responders to be able to find addresses. When your light bulb burns out on your house numbers, it becomes difficult for EMS to find the appropriate address. Therefore, it is important for the house numbers on your garage to be illuminated. The following information provides the information on the correct light bulb needed to replace a burned-out bulb. The light bulb can be ordered on Amazon but is also available at Do It Best on 6th Street in Beaumont. We would like to thank our Block Captains and Community Awareness (formerly Neighborhood Watch) Committee members for all they do to help keep our community safe. ~ Frank Hilberg, hilberg frank@ gmail.com Community Awareness Keiurot House Number Light Bulb Address Bulb 194 193 Bulb Lighted Address Sign LED Replacement Bulb Kit 10-30Volt AC/DC, Landscape and RV Cabinet Lighting Warm White, 2 Pack The black dog in this photo is Riley, a new member to the Corral. He is a seven-month-old Giant Schnauzer. He has boundless energy. His play is exhausting Reyna on this bright morning. This is what the Canine Corral (in other places called a dog park) is all about. Dogs need socialization just like children do. They learn dog behaviors and limits from each other. If a dog doesn't want to play, he will first show his teeth and growl. If the behavior continues, he will snap at the pesky dog, which in dog behavior means no, stop. The pesky dog usually moves on to find another dog willing to play. To date, we have had no fights between dogs in the Corral. Young dogs also learn to interact with other pet parents and to not be afraid of other people. It is the responsibility of the pet parent to help their dog learn limits of behaviors unacceptable to other people (like jumping). The Canine Corral is self-funded. No funds come from the HOA. So, we are having a "Yappy Hour" social in the Game Room on Nov. 2 from 4 to 6 pm. Please join us. There will be wine and snacks for you to enjoy. There will be raffle baskets for your dog and some for people too. No dogs allowed as this is a people only event. The Council members will be on hand to answer any questions you may have and applications for membership will be available. The first year is only $40 per dog and the next two years are $30 each. The Corral is open daily from dawn to dusk for you and your pet to enjoy. Please mark your calendar for our "Yappy Hour" social on Nov. 2. It is a great chance to connect with other dog owners and meet new friends. ~ Martha Franck, Co-Chairman, marthafranck@icloud. com Canine Corral Council
