FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2023 61
Have you heard about the fun that has been happening on Tuesday
nights at The Summit? The Beaumont Bagger Cornhole Group
meets every Tuesday at 5 pm. We play cornhole for an hour and then
socialize over dinner.
Come and try it out! No cost, experience, or equipment needed.
Bring a chair and join us as a participant or a spectator. Couples,
singles, or groups are welcomed to play. We choose names for teams
to set you up with a teammate for the night. If you want to stay for
dinner, bring your main dish for yourself and a dish to share with the
group.
Every week, we continue to welcome new friends and enjoy this fun
sport. ~ Pat Barry

Just as I thought it was going to be trout season, we had another heat wave.
The weather is really crazy this year. It is a hard fact that fishing does depend
on the weather.
Let me tell you a fishing story that had to do with the weather. Back in the
70s, the Salton Sea was a great place to fish. The weather was crazy back then.
The main problem we had fishing the Salton Sea was the wind. The Santa Ana
winds would cause white caps on the water, and because the sea was shallow, it
became choppy and was impossible to fish from a boat.
It was a windy day so we decided to fish from shore. We were fishing at the
North Shore State Park. There was a jetty there and we could catch fish from the
jetty. Just as we started fishing, a big wave crashed over the jetty and we were
thrown into the water. Because we all could swim, we made it to shore with no
problem. We started fishing again and caught all kinds of fish. The moral of
this story is: NEVER GIVE UP.
Tight lines to all my fishing friends and remember you can only catch fish
if your lines are in the water. ~ Richard Carrasco, ricarrasco52@gmail.com
