Fall has been full of surprises! With the uptick of COVID cases in
our community, our Board decided to cancel our fall luncheon. A lot
of hard work and preparation had gone into the event, and we were
disappointed to have to do so… but what is best for our members
has to come first. (Spring is just around the corner, which will bring
us another chance!) Many thanks to Barbara Ott and her helpers for
all the efforts!
Our crafty classes this month include two very practical things!
On Thurs., Nov. 16, we will be making pillowcases. Perfect timing
for the "X Men" one for your grandson, or one for your grandchild in
college… even in a dormitory, they need a pillow! The following Sat.,
Nov. 18, is time to revisit our microwave bowl "cozy." This is a holder
for that bowl of ice cream in front of the TV (keeps your hands from
getting cold), or for a warm bowl of soup. Both classes are beginner
skill level; knowledge of how to use a machine should be in your
repertoire. If you are interested in attending, there will be sign-up
sheets in the sewing room and information on materials required for
the classes. Don't forget about our "rideshare" service to meetings
and workshops that are held in our clubhouse. If you are interested

(760) 500-3086. We have a list of volunteers who will be happy to get
you to and from the event.
As an FYI – there are no classes in December.
If you're interested in just getting together with some smiling
faces, our Kneedlers (knitters) and Hookers (crocheters) gather on
Tuesdays from 3 to 4:30 pm and are always looking for excuses to
practice their knitting and crocheting, and to offer guidance. Also,
on Tuesday evenings (6 to 8 pm) and Fridays (12 to 3 pm) several
quilters, knitters, crocheters and sewers get together for "Sew &
Chats." Both of these gatherings are loosely structured and help to
keep us in touch.
