Village Vets
Everyone is invited to Abravenal Hall on Nov. 11 at 11 am for our annual
Veterans Day Celebration. It will be hosted by Donna Russell and the
RBV High School Band will be there too. We will be honoring Vietnam-
era veterans this year. Our guest speaker will be Marine Lt. Colonel (Ret.)
Eddie Utuk who was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. You
won't want to miss this event.
The election for 2024 Village Vets' Board members was held at our
General Meeting on Sept. 28. The following individuals were elected: Bob
Bechill, Commander; Patricia Battles, Vice Commander; Robert Smith,
Treasurer and Jack Shabel, Secretary.
Our Annual Village Veterans Holiday Party will be on the evening of
Dec. 9 this year, so please save the date. Again, as in the past, we will be
sponsoring Navy and Marine personnel from Camp Pendleton. I was told
there will be a fantastic band and dinner will be served. More information
will be coming soon.
Please remember there will be no regularly scheduled Village Vets
General meeting in November or December but do remember that
everyone is welcomed at the Nov. 11 Veterans Day celebration.
