| OHCC LIVING | NOVEMBER 2023 |27 Theatre Arts At a glance~ • Nov. 6 – General meeting San Diego Youth Orchestra • Nov. 18 – Board meeting Thanksgiving is nearly here! Can you believe how time has flown? Your Board is hard at work to provide entertainment that is creative, funny, fun, meaningful, unusual, exciting, educational, and thought- provoking. We thoroughly enjoyed cabaret singer, Francesca Amari's Oct. 2 performance. What a talent! We hope to experience her again – and soon. On Nov. 6 at 7 pm in Abravanel Hall, we are proud to present the San Diego Youth Symphony. The symphony offers student musicians of various skill levels the opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency for receptive audiences in a variety of locations throughout Southern California. They are currently preparing to perform at Carnegie Hall next summer, and we anticipate having them join us again in the spring, as well. Our doors open at 6:30 pm. The community is invited. Admission is free for Theatre Arts' members and $5 for non- members, payable at the door. Feel free to bring your own beverages and snacks. Center Stage Productions, an Escondido student theater group, is working on another presentation for our group. Keep your eyes and ears open for specifics! We look forward to seeing you the first Monday in November. Entrance to our Monday performances is open to the community, is free to members, with a $5 admission for non-members. Join Theatre Arts now and enjoy all the Monday performances for free through 2024. Renewals and new memberships are $12 through 2024 ($15 in 2024, if you wait until January to renew or join). Our next regular Board meeting will be held Nov. 18, at 11 am, in a room to be assigned. Regular Board meetings are held the third Wednesday of the month at 11 am, and are open to all Theatre Arts members, so please do come and join us. Join Theatre Arts so you can participate in all of our entertainment and activities. Our annual dues are currently $12. Make your check payable to "OH Theatre Arts" and bring it to the front desk.
