As most regular Bingo players know,
October signals the end of our 2023 season.
Thanks to you, Bingo had a wonderful 2023
season. Here is a little recap.
With our website, email reminders, flyers,
and Bingo poster in the Clubhouse, player
turnout has been amazing. The average
number of players in 2023 was 195. Compared
to 2022 we had a player increase of almost 40
percent. As a result of the increase in players,
we continue to work with Recreation to have
the maximum available tables and chairs
set up each month. Due to other functions
throughout the Clubhouse, our seating
capacity may fluctuate somewhat. However,
Chris Bessey and her wonderful team do
their best to accommodate Bingo. They all
do an amazing job. Thank you so much!
We had our inaugural Matinee Bingo
in September. A moderate success. What
did you think? I would like to hear your
comments. Email us.
The 50/50 raffle, the brainchild of Lynn
Bible, has been a stunning success. The
50/50 raffle is in addition to the two door
prizes. The average prize for each of the two
winners is $60. The portion of the 50/50 that
goes to Bingo is used for additional door
prizes, subsidizing a portion of the dauber
sales, and this year helped pay for our first
Volunteer Thank You Luncheon.
Every month about 30 volunteers help
to make Bingo run smoothly. All our
volunteers, whether it is filling pitchers,
running the AV, organizing the ice cream,
cashiering, being a runner, selling daubers,
50/50, trouble shooting, or dealing with all
the other issues that come up each month,
are a valuable resource that we treasure and
could not function without. This year as a
thank you we had our first Volunteer Thank
You Lunch. A delectable Mediterranean
Feast was served, and all the volunteers left
with a small party favor. Fun door prizes
were given to seven lucky winners.
Without our players, Bingo would not
need volunteers and without volunteers,
Bingo could not function. A sincere thanks
to all of you. Have a wonderful and safe
holiday season. We look forward to seeing
you again on Jan. 20, 2024, for our first game
of the 2024 season. Doors will open at 6:30
pm. 50/50 ticket sales will begin at 5:45 pm.
