| OHCC LIVING | NOVEMBER 2023 | 7 Community Patrol Services (CPS) strives to uphold a culture of transparency in our operations within this cherished community. We aim to provide you with monthly comprehensive updates pertaining to safety protocols, upcoming events, and more. In September, a total of 119 violations were recorded for open garage doors. We kindly remind residents that while a garage door can be partially open by 18 inches when inactive, it is crucial to ensure its secure closure when not in use. Repeat violations within a 12-month period will result in a hearing before the CRC (Community Rules Committee). If found to be true, these violations may incur a fine of $25 per citation. Recent sightings of coyotes and Bobcats highlight the importance of safeguarding both pets and garage sanctuaries. In regard to stop sign violations, we documented 30 instances. Although the implementation of trail cameras at frequently traveled intersections has led to a decline in such violations, there continues to be a concerning disregard for safety at stop signs. We would like to remind everyone that a complete stop is defined as a vehicle coming to a halt at zero miles per hour. Citations for stop sign violations are issued based on these criteria. First-time offenders may be required to consult with the CRC, and the violation can potentially be reduced to a warning, as determined by the CRC. Any decision made by the CRC will be communicated to the master board for further action. Subsequent moving violation citations within a 12-month period will generally result in fines, with the current fine for a stop sign violation set at $75 per offense. Lastly, there were 20 reported violations of unauthorized parking at the Clubhouse parking lot. These non-moving violations encompass unauthorized guest parking and illegal parking in handicapped spaces without the proper credentials. We would like to remind residents that the Clubhouse parking lot is designated for residents and approved vendors only. The only exception to this rule is for vehicles displaying valid handicapped parking credentials, verified by the license plate or placard on the vehicle. Guest parking should occur in the overflow lot across the street adjacent to the tennis courts or Inspiration Hill. The first allegation of a non-moving traffic violation in this category may result in a warning. Any decision made by the CRC will be communicated to the master board for further action. Repeat violations within a 12-month period will result in a hearing before the CRC. If you have a concern that you would like to be raised in another issue of Living magazine, contact me via email or by phone.
