We are dark in November which means there is no meeting. The next event for the Happy Cookers is the Holiday Party, "A Winter Wonderland," which will be held in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom on Dec. 15, from 5 pm to 8 pm. Tickets for members are $25 and $30 for non-members. See Pat Coie for more information. Please bring an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots. Why not elevate your Thanksgiving Feast with delectable homemade dishes? As the crisp autumn breeze heralds the arrival of Thanksgiving, it's time to embrace the heartwarming traditions of sharing gratitude and indulging in a lavish feast with loved ones. While the holiday evokes images of a bountiful table adorned with succulent turkey, creamy mashed potatoes, and velvety pumpkin pie, this year why not infuse your celebration with a touch of culinary creativity? A Thanksgiving feast with these delectable homemade dishes may pay homage to classic favorites while adding a delightful twist. Rosemary-Infused Roast Turkey with Citrus Glaze: Give the star of the show, the turkey, a fragrant makeover by infusing it with fresh rosemary sprigs before roasting. A citrus glaze made from orange and cranberry juices, honey, and a hint of cinnamon adds a glossy finish that is both tangy and sweet. Truffle-Infused Mashed Potatoes: Elevate the humble mashed potatoes by incorporating the luxurious aroma of truffles. Infuse truffle oil into your creamy potato mixture and top with finely grated parmesan cheese, for an indulgent twist on a classic side dish. Herbed Cornbread Stuffing with Sausage and Chestnuts: Upgrade your stuffing game by swapping plain bread for savory cornbread, infuse it with a medley of fresh herbs, pan-seared sausage, and roasted chestnuts. The cornbread's slightly sweet profile offers a delightful contrast to the savory components. Maple-Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Crispy Pancetta: Transform brussel sprouts into an irresistible side dish by roasting them with a drizzle of maple syrup until they caramelize and develop a subtle sweetness. Crispy pancetta adds a savory crunch, making this a refreshing departure from standard vegetable offerings. Bourbon-Infused Pumpkin Cheesecake: Put a spirited spin on the traditional pumpkin pie by crafting a bourbon-infused pumpkin cheese cake. The velvety texture of cheese cake combined with the earthy notes of pumpkin and a hint of bourbon creates a dish that's rich, complex and utterly indulgent. As you gather around the table with your loved ones, these delectable homemade creations will serve as a reminder of the joy of experimentation and the beauty of tradition. Embrace the spirit of the season and let your Thanksgiving celebration be a testament to the wonderful fusion of old and new. So, if you love to cook, or just love to eat, this is the club for you!
