62 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2023 | So as our summer comes to a close, and fall is upon us, looking back the past month our group went to Golden Village Palms RV Resort the last week of September. I know all the way to Hemet. If you haven't been to Golden Village, you're missing a Paradise right smack in the middle of Hemet. The representatives were very friendly and accommodating. The sites were well taken care of, and plenty of room to park the RV, a vehicle, and still be able to set up our tables and chairs. They had a fantastic shuffle board complex, plus billiard room, and salt pools and spas. There were 16 rigs, with 31 members participating. Golden Village hosted a wine reception on Sunday, our first night there, which was very nice. On Monday we had corn hole games, with Barb Reed, Randy Miller, Lillie Sims, and the infamous Steve Martin winning. Tuesday was Pot Luck breakfast, which was great. Should have made more blueberry pancakes. Wednesday was golf day. We had three teams playing, and the winners were Sandi Martin, Steve Swartz, Randy Miller, and Leon Fikse taking first place. I suspect if they didn't have Sandi on the team, they may have came in last. Sandi was unbeatable putting, sinking a 51' putt and a couple of 25 footers. The team I play on couldn't sink 10 footers all day long. Looking forward: We have one more adventure before the end of the year, with our Fall Rally going to Emerald Desert Resort, with Bonnie Aulwes and Gary Balcom as our trail bosses. Information about the Rally ands festivities planned should be out before you receive this edition of Lifestyles Magazine. The dates of the Rally are Nov. 26 to Dec. 1. Our Christmas party is Dec. 10 in the South Clubhouse. We will be setting up at 4pm, with the party to start at 5 pm as social time (BYOB), then dinner, music provided by The Tin Man's Heart. Games to follow. We are asking for unwrapped Toys for Tots. Last year we filled two tables, let's try to donate more. Come to our Home Town Rally at the South Clubhouse Jan. 20 and 21, with Saturday being from 1 to 8 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 8 pm. This is always a lot of fun. April 28-May3, 2024 is to Bishop. Looking to see if we can do a Summer Rally at the Beach. Sept. 22-27 will be Zion National Park, with a potential extended trip up to Cody, WY, Yellowstone, Deadwood, Black Hills, Rafter Bar "J", and Flaming Gorge before getting to Zion. Fall Rally still to be determine. We want to wish a very happy birthday to those with their birthday's in November.
