| LIFE IN SOLERA | NOVEMBER 2023 | 49 The Tuesday Night Poker Group is still going strong in providing a night of fun, friendship, and shuffling… the cards that is! One tip about Texas Hold'em as a new player, you will be nervous! Everyone who just starts feels that way, but you will become more relaxed and confident with each Tuesday you come to play. The group is understanding and always helpful to the new players. Should you be interested to learn before a game night, there are plans to hold Intro to Texas Hold'em events, so watch for the flyers on that. We play every Tuesday evening and play starts at 4 pm in Oakmont Room 3. For more information, please contact Earl Scott at (909) 633-4867. We invite you to come and try your hand at Texas Hold'em. TUESDAY NIGHT POKER BINGO SOCIAL CLUB Our club meets twice a month on the first and third Thursdays. Doors open at 5 pm and Bingo begins at 6 pm. For further information, contact Mary Anne Roadick (909) 239-6698. Rummikub is a game that anybody can play and enjoy. Even Joan Moreno's kitty-cat Missy enjoys watching the game. It's really no surprise that Rummikub is so popular - it has all the elements that make a great game: It's a lot of fun; very easy to learn; combines luck and strategy; the board changes with each turn so each game is different every time it's played; and every player has a chance to win. Players take turns placing numbered tiles in runs (consecutive numbers of the same color) and groups/books (three or more of the same number in different colors) until someone plays all the tiles in their rack. Rummikub can make your brain think of a variety of possibilities for each turn which may help sharpen your sequencing, pattern recognition, and planning skills. We play in the Oakmont Room each Monday afternoon from 2 to 4 pm. We welcome both newcomers and experienced players to our group. Each game takes about 15 to 20 minutes and several tables are set up so you can play with two to four people depending on how you prefer to play. If you have any questions, please call Carole Stone at (951) 385-3450. RUMMIKUB
