We would like to thank everyone who attended the "Social
Gathering" last week. The ambassadors work very hard contacting
members of the Clubs/Groups asking them to attend and making
calls to the new residents they met during the past six months to
remind them of this event. If you missed this event, the next one is
the last Wednesday in April 2024.
The holiday season is upon us. Last week it was Halloween, next is
Veteran's Day, and then Thanksgiving. Many of us will be spending
time with our families and friends. Please remember to share a few
minutes to check on your neighbors who may be alone. If you are
having guests, please remind them to enter through the main gate. If
they use GPS ask them to use 1550 Fairway Drive, which should take
them to the main gate.
Did you know? There are 41 occasions during 2023 in which our
Solera Veteran Flag Brigade hang U.S. flags along our main streets.
I never actually thought about why the flags were displayed. Then
one day my son was visiting, and he saw all the flags and asked me
about them. I told him that we have a group of men who follow the
U.S. calendar for displaying the flags. My son is a Veteran and he
thought this was so awesome. He said he had not seen this in any
other community and was proud that I lived in a community that
honored our Veterans and our flag. Veterans Day is Nov. 11. I would
like to thank the men who volunteer their time to not only display the
flags, but they also take great care in protecting and preserving these
donated flags. Thank you!
