It can be costly to undo a project not permitted by the DRC Guidelines. After you pick up an application in the office, fill it out completely, beginning with getting two neighbors' signatures. Your application needs to be precise. If you are re-landscaping (DRC Guidelines, Article VI) the front, side and/or rear yard, include a diagram and/ or photo of your project. In your diagram, put the location and the type of plants and tree(s). To achieve the 50/50 requirement, plants need to be able to spread. It is not the number of plants you put in the ground, it is what will those plants look like with a two-year growth. When installing rock (1/2-3/8") in the front and side yards make sure the rock is not white, lava, or pea gravel. Include a sample of the rock with your application. The committee meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. After reviewing your application, the committee will either fully approve, approve with stipulation, more information needed, or deny the application. The finding of the committee is conveyed to the homeowner later that afternoon. Permits can be picked up in the office on Friday at noon. If you do not pick up your permit, it will be mailed to you. Put the permit in the window of your garage door. When your project is completed, (you have a year) return the permit to the office. A committee member will inspect your project. If you have followed the specifications of your application, there should not be a problem with final approval.
