64 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2023 | Ladies Executive Golf HO! HO! HO! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! 2023 has been terrific for LEGS members. Our membership has grown exponentially since the beginning of the year with the wonderful addition of some enthusiastic women golfers! Our current membership count is 118. Highlights of the year included the Highland Springs Invitational and Executive Men's Tournament, the Quarterly Championship games and special monthly events all provided a memorable experience of friendly competition. We celebrated our Hole-in-One recipient, Maggie Bartells. Maggie will have her name added to the club plaque, which is displayed in the North Pro Shop. The new 2024 LEGS Board of Directors and 2023 Club Champion will be announced at our Christmas luncheon celebration. This year certainly made for an exciting experience! LEGS strives to provide golfers of various skill levels, a fun and friendly golf atmosphere enjoyed by all. We invite you all to come on out, play a golf round with our members, and enjoy a fun experience! Executive Men's Golf The Executive Men's Golf Club wishes all Sun Lakes residents Happy Holidays and a Prosperous New Year. During the month of December, we do not conduct tournaments, however we do have exclusive use of the Executive Course on Friday mornings. Also, December is the perfect time to enroll or renew your membership. The Executive Men's Golf Club is open to all male Sun Lakes residents who are interested in golf, fun, and camaraderie. All levels of players (beginners to experienced) are welcome. We play every Friday morning on the challenging 3,019-yard SCGA rated Executive Course from the gold tees. Beginning in January our monthly tournaments will be played on the fourth Friday to challenge your skills against your fellow club members. Come join us! Dues are $30 for annual club membership with an active SCGA GHIN Membership. Membership forms are available in the North Clubhouse Pro Shop or on the EMGC website. If you play golf often, sign up for one of the 2024 annual membership golf rate options. The 2024 Annual Fees and Application are available in our Pro Shop. Championship Course Membership includes play on the Executive Course at no additional charge. As a reminder: ALL MEN'S CLUB MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO POST THEIR SCORES AFTER EACH ROUND! Beginning Oct. 1, all Men's Club Events/Tournaments will have an 8:30am Shotgun Start through March 2024. Tournament Schedule for December 2023: Dec. 6: Jack Dutton Tournament of Champions (Individual Stroke Play), Gold Tee Tournament (Individual Stroke Play). Dec. 16: Sun Lakes Safari Modified Version #2 (A,B,C,D). At our Annual Membership Meeting on Nov. 1, the following Board Nominees were voted on and approved by the General Membership: Dale Bowring, Doug Jensen and Jeff Ranieri. Each of these gentlemen will serve a three-year term. The Board would like to thank the three exiting Board Members for their contributions over the past several years: Tony Brown, Rod Kemp and Kevin Johnson. 2024 is just around the corner! Beginning in 2024, the Membership Dues and SCGA Fees will be collected separately. For all current active members, the SCGA Fee ($36) will be billed to your December 2023 Sun Lakes House Account, and you will see the charge on your January 2024 Statement. The membership dues ($40) will be collected via personal check along with the membership applications and placed in the Men's Club Box located in the Pro Shop, on or before Dec. 31, 2023. 2024 Membership Applications are available in the Pro Shop As you can see the total fees for our Men's Club will not be increasing for 2024. The fees will remain $76. Fees must be paid to continue playing in Men's Club Tournaments in 2024.
