It's already December! This month is normally a pretty busy time for all of us. Time to make lists, get organized, and plan your schedules. Group members are looking forward to our annual holiday party on Wed., Dec. 6 at 5 pm. This year our party will be in the newly revamped Sandwedge Bar & Grill. I am anxious to see what games we'll play, what surprises there will be, and most of all, just seeing all of our members being together in one place. We may even have some of our former contemporaries join us, which would be so nice to be with them again. The theme is aprons this year, something we haven't done in the past. I'm hoping to see some dazzling creations waltzing around the room. If those attending wish to join in the gift exchange, there is a limit of $20 to spend on the gift. We decorated wine bottles, candlesticks, and other suitable vessels for our November project. We experimented with just how many lights and other bling we could add to create a new holiday decoration, to give as a gift or to keep for ourselves. Such fun. We recently welcomed a new member to our crafty little group, Denise Winfield. Since she hasn't missed a meeting since joining us, I'm guessing she has found her happy place! We will only meet twice in December, due to Christmas falling on a Monday this year. We will meet in the Bus Room on the first Mon., Dec. 4, then in the Multipurpose Room on Dec. 18. Both days will be from 1 to 3 pm. The December birthday luncheon will be on Thurs., Dec. 14 at 11 am in the Atrium. Our meeting schedule for next year will be different but much better. We will no longer have to be in the Bus Room, and we will get to meet EVERY Monday. Yay! There's a bit of a time change only on the second Monday, but you will be given a reminder every month. I'm looking forward to being able to do our crafts and social activities each and every week. We no longer have to ask ourselves, "Do we meet today?" Please contact either Elaine Perkins at (951) 334-3119 or Sallie Flesher at (951) 902-9768 for more information. Paper Crafting 28 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2023 | I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for here in Sun Lakes. We finished our Round Robin and everyone was excited to see how the beginning block looked as it passed to four different quilters. Pictures to come. Join us; we meet on the first, third, and fifth Mondays in the Arts & Crafts Room from 1 to 5 pm. For info, call Jan Hamm at (951) 212-6799 or Vivian Myrdahl at (626) 221-0872. Sun Lakes Quilters Sew What? Club Talented and interested ladies who have an interest in the Sew What Club are always welcome to attend our meetings on the first and third Tuesdays. We meet at 12:30 to 2:30 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. Because our membership has dwindled, there are some weeks that we have missed meeting because the few remaining members had other commitments that arise and there is no one to lead the group. If that has happened to you, don't give up on coming the next time or giving me a call. My name is Gail and you can reach me at (951) 797- 3589. If I am unable to take your call, please leave your name and number and a brief message and I will call you back.
