54 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2023 Quilting Enthusiasts Quilting Enthusiasts, it's almost the end of the year. Where has 2023 gone? It seems like yesterday that spring time was finally starting to bloom. Then summer came along and found me heading to Colorado to visit family, friends, and watch my granddaughter graduate from Colorado College. Again, it seemed like yesterday that she graduated from high school. Where has the time gone? In June, I was off to Florida to see my son and his family. Now it's the beginning of November with Thanksgiving just around the corner and Christmas is even closer than I remember it being in the past. I quilted some quilt tops, made a few art quilts, helped teach a four fabric portrait class in Vista California and Kelowna British Columbia, and am looking to go back to Vista to teach again. Life hasn't slowed down for me or the other Quilting Enthusiasts. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the November meeting as I was in Italy for a week. Our ladies were asked by the Cars & Coffee Club to make and donate a quilt for the Veterans Day show on Nov. 11. Two of our ladies, Jeri Sorensen and Carolyn Young, stepped up and made a beautiful quilt. Carolyn made another quilt featuring a U.S. Navy theme. Pictures will be included in the January issue. A special thank you to Jeri and Carolyn for their time and beautiful work. Speaking of the quilt enthusiasts, we have two announcements: First, our meeting day is still the second Thursday of each month but we will be meeting in the Game Room. Second, the time of our meeting has changed to 10 am due to several other conflicts. Are you wondering why? It's holiday time at Four Seasons and our regular room gets used as a "staging" area for all the festivities that are planned for the fall, beginning with Halloween through New Years. Yes, we were ousted from our meeting area. Fear not, come February or March, we will return to Arts & Crafts Room 2 and our usual time of 1 pm. Please, please, please, mark your calendars for the new times and location. Speaking, oops, I mean writing about next year, we do have some exciting things planned. The third Four Seasons Quilt Show will be happening. Watch here in the Breeze or on the monitors for details with dates and times. Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year for 2024 from the Four Seasons Quilting Enthusiast. Piece through quilting. ~ Mary M.
