64 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2023 TOPS The TOPS group (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is playing Bingo? Now, that's odd unless each square is a physical activity to burn calories. That's our current contest. We had lots of fun last month with exercise, our monthly theme. One activity was a 40-minute circuit training route during our regular meeting. It included balloons, weights, and Thera bands. If you were forced to eat the exact same food every day, you would get bored. The same is true of exercise. That's why so many people inevitably let exercise resolutions fall by the wayside. So, we decided to try something new. Circuit training combines a variety of resistance exercises, and targets different muscle groups. This type of exercise keeps your body and brain guessing as you quickly move from one task to another. Our exercises included bicep curl, marching in place, triceps extension, wall sit, seated leg extension, soup can punches, lat pull- down, wall push-ups, chest press, and warm up and cool downs. This was a full body workout and lots of fun. We meet on Tuesday at 8:30 am in the Ballroom. For more information, call Andi Henderson (918) 497-6491. ~ Andi Henderson Hey everyone, our club had quite a month of activities for October. First, a winning team – Frank Turner and Bill Palmer – has emerged with an impressive five Bostons scored in one night. We now have a challenge to beat this score! Second, we hosted a potluck to help bring in holiday cheer. The food was delicious, the beverages were filling, and everyone enjoyed playing Bid Whist afterwards. We even ended the month on Halloween with a fun-filled and spooky night. I am inviting more folks to come out and play Bid Whist. We have paper flyers available at The Lodge, and our electronic flyer can now be viewed on the E-Boards in all the facilities and online in the Activities Blast. We will teach you how to play this game. Bid Whist is a variation to the original game of Whist and it involves strategy, card counting and careful communication with a partner. It is similar in play to Bridge and Spades. Whether you are new to the game or a veteran player, I invite you to come out and play with us! The coed Bid Whist group meets on Tuesdays from 6 to 8:30 pm in the RCN Building, Activity Room #3. We offer a satisfying game environment filled with skill, good cheer, good-natured trash talking, and some great music. Win or lose … you will have a lot of fun and meet some great folks while playing Bid Whist. We look forward to seeing you at the tables!
