FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2023 9 What a great year this has been! I can't believe how quickly we sped through it and how many memories we made together! Well, keep your seatbelt on, because we're going out with a bang starting with the Holiday Extravaganza Show, A Dickens of a Christmas Carol put on by the Performing Arts Club. The show will be presented in the Ballroom on Friday, Dec. 1 and Saturday, Dec. 2 at 6 pm, and a matinee on Sunday at 2 pm. You are going to love this show, so be sure you stop by The Lodge front desk and pick up a ticket. The tickets are free but you need one to enter. There will be a stand-by line right before each show for folks who are willing to wait to see if any ticket-bearers fail to show up, thus allowing empty seats to be taken. Festive refreshments will be served. On Wednesday, Dec. 6 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm in The Lodge Ballroom, Park West will have a free holiday workshop showing us how to make those new trendy Butter Boards for holiday entertaining. Every participant will go home with their very own Butter Board and delicious recipes. On Sunday, Dec. 10 at 5 pm in The Lodge Ballroom, we will have our Community Hanukkah Celebration, and this year it's going to be spectacular! It will be an evening of comedy and music featuring the special musical guests, "The Orange Jews" as well as Perry and Aria Goldstein and Zev and Jaq Brooks. There will also be a yummy dessert reception to sweeten the wonderful evening. As I said before, this is for our whole community, so be sure to join this fun and funny evening. There is no cost to come, but you must stop by The Lodge front desk to pick up a ticket. I look forward to seeing you there! If you like holiday lights (and who doesn't), Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 6 pm starts our neighborhood lighting competition. If you are participating in the competition this year, please sign up in The Lodge Lobby so we can make a list of decorated homes for residents to see and vote on. Please also be sure to have your lights turned on by 5:30 pm on judging night. If you would like to be a resident judge, please pick up a competition judging ballot. All ballots must be submitted for entry by Tuesday, Dec. 19. We will be announcing the winners on Dec. 21. The Four Seasons Bell Choir will be ringing, in harmonious synchronicity, the familiar carols of the holidays; nothing is more beautiful than the sounds of the bells! The concert will occur on Thursday, Dec. 14 at 6 pm in the Ballroom. Refreshments will be served. Karaoke will be happening this month on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 5:30 pm. Get festive and enjoy an evening of song, friendship, and holiday spirit … which reminds me, you are welcome to bring your holiday spirits and dinners with you as well. Be sure to check the Daily Report for the millions of club and group parties also happening this month. It's been a great year, I love you all and appreciate what incredible people you are! Have a fantastic holiday and let's get ready for the best 2024 we've ever had! ~ Cindy Graves, Activities Director ACTIVITIES CORNER Here's our Santa Sams Canyon Lane group. We all came together to meet (some for the first time) and share in a potluck and plan out our Christmas-theme street together. It really does make a difference if you get to know your neighbors and they become friends. We all love living here! ~ Lori Molter, 1607 Sams Canyon
