We are also planning a symposium on "Cutting the Cord," which will provide valuable insights into the future of entertainment and allow time for you to join our experts in discussing the latest trends and strategies. e dates for these informative events will be announced soon. COMMUNICATIONS & TECHNOLOGY By Greg Hill EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS By Judy King It is important that Colony residents be prepared for possible disasters or emergencies. Since disasters can happen at any moment, the time to join our resident Emergency Preparedness Committee (EPC) and Field Team is now! Experts say most help will come at the community level where neighbors will help neighbors, provided they are prepared to give that help during the first few days aer any major disaster or emergency. For many years, our all-volunteer resident EPC has been working on behalf of our community to organize and prepare. During an emergency, EPC will establish an Emergency Command Center, from which our Incident Commander (Mike Nunez) will communicate the needs of our community to our Search and Rescue and Triage Teams. e EPC is working continuously to recruit resident volunteers. We are desperately seeking volunteers for the positions of Deputy Incident Commander, Vice Utility Coordinator, Logistics/ Supplies, Basic First Aid/Triage, and Search & Rescue. As a major portion of this program, we are also in desperate need of volunteers to work as Area Coordinators and Block Captains. Each Area Coordinator will support the specific needs of the Block Captains and communicate that information to and from the Emergency Command Center. A Block Captain is the first person a neighbor may need to respond in a major emergency situation such as an earthquake. If you are a caring neighbor who would be happy to knock on the doors of 10 of your neighbors to ask if they are okay, we need you! We specifically need block captains on these 11 streets: Corte Albara, Via Oporto, Via Tapadero, Via Pamilla, Corte Peralta, Corte Emerado, Via Aquadulce, Colony Drive, Via Marisa, Via Tonada, and Corte Lorca. If you have questions about serving as an Area Coordinator or Block Captain, please contact Kathy Lewis at (951) 412-0006 or km.lewis@outlook.com If you are interested in additional information or in joining our team of volunteers, please contact Jackie Price at (951) 304-9055, cell (415)203-6445, or jkp623@verizon.net. Our leaders' contact information can also be found on page two. Please consider joining our team of dedicated and committed resident members!
