Merry Christmas blessings, Happy
Hanukkah, and all around sincere happy
holidays to our wonderful community. On
Oct. 25, several of us headed to the Riverside
Citrus Museum on a foggy autumn morning
only to discover the museum was closed
for the day. Undeterred, we Late Bloomers
bloomed where we found ourselves planted,
and headed out into the groves for what turned out to be a fun,
exploratory adventure of self-guided exploring. In addition to the
wonderful fragrances of oranges, grapefruit, mandarins, lemons,
limes and buddha fingers, (yes, buddha fingers) we discovered the
most delicious avocado groves. Photos are self explanatory, as we
captured one Diane Corte leading the pack. Anxious to return
home and taste our first buddha finger, we held this most unusual
fruit for the camera. Enjoying phenomenal views from high upon
this hilltop, we all agreed to return in the spring for a tour of the
museum.
Our potluck/musical jam session on Nov. 13 did not disappoint
as we wrapped up our year in grand style. Complete with bongos
for a drum circle everyone got in on the fun! December will be
a quiet month for these weary Bloomers, spent with family and
friends, looking forward to what new adventures 2024 await us.
Stay tuned…
