Needle Me
What happened to my sweater?
It's too long and too wide but my gauge was correct.
Could it be the FIBER you chose?
Come to our Needle Me meeting and meet some of us who learned about how plant
based fibers react to your body heat, not drying your garment well, etc.
Plant-based fibers are cotton, linen, bamboo, and others.
e cowl you see on our member, Lilian Togo, was knit using 14 different fibers,
either singly or in combination with others. e combination yarns help keep fibers
from stretching, shrinking, or pulling on the diagonal.
We have lots of fun learning from each other's experiences with new yarns. Come
share your thoughts and ideas with us – knitting, crocheting, weaving – all using some
type of YARN.
You don't have to be experienced in a particular needlecra to participate in the
Needle Me group. e ladies in the group range from beginner to almost professional.
If you think you might be interested in learning how to knit, crochet, or almost any
needlecra that you can think of, we probably have someone in the group who can
teach you.
Anyone is welcome to stop by to visit with us and see what projects we are all working
on. We meet on the first and fourth Friday of each month in the Arts & Cras Room at
1 pm. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Bobbie
Davis at (951) 223-3836 or Merilyn Burnside at (951) 658-8310.
