It's that time again to write the last Recreation article for the year 2023 and to wish the community of Ocean Hills the happiest of holidays. Beginning Fri., Dec. 1 the Clubhouse should be almost completely decorated in a winter theme. e annual toy drive took place last month and we are looking forward to about 15 special events in the Clubhouse. e Choral Society will be performing on Sun., Dec. 10 at 2 pm. Refreshments will be served immediately following. Followed on Tuesday by our Holiday Golf Cart Parade on the 12th and leaving the Overflow Parking Lot at 5 pm. Last year we le a bit earlier, the sun was setting and beautiful but the decorated lights were hard to see. A map is enclosed, the route will be reversed this year and the timing is always a challenge. For those who participate in the parade, cookies and cocoa will be provided. Let's hope it is not too chilly, otherwise, the gloves, scarves and jackets will be the appropriate cart attire. Our New Year's Eve tickets are on sale at the Clubhouse front desk. e pricing for this event is affordable at $68 per person. Drinks, mixers, and dessert will be provided. is is a BYOB event. With the cost of food sky rocketing, we decided to reduce the cost, so that more would attend, we would serve an array of hors d'oeuvres to enjoy on throughout the evening. e Clubhouse will close at 5 pm to regular users and open at 8 pm for the party. Get a table of 10 friends together and join us for a fun-filled evening. e parking is free and the drive home is effortless. Let's ring in 2024 together! Annual Golf Bag Tags are available at the Front Desk at no charge. No tags are needed for guests. e start time on the golf course has been changed to 7:50 am and this change will be noted in the new handbook of rules. e Golf Club has experienced a growth spurt, as more new residents are signing up to join. Golf Lessons are available to learn the game. Look in the Clubhouse racks for more information. Make sure all golf cart owners register their vehicles during the upcoming decal process in 2024. e continued growth of several clubs has been recognized this past year. Wine Club, Racquet Club, Table Tennis, Papercraing, Doo Wop, Music Lovers, and Sailing are some that come to mind. Do Dues Day will be held on Sat., Jan. 13 at 10 am. Bring checkbooks, yes, checkbooks to sign up for club memberships and ask questions. Club officers have been appointed by then, and it's a great way to get involved and to get introduced to the endless activity here at OHCC. We thank you for the support, the encouragement, and the thoughtful gis we have received this past year. e entire management staff wishes you a memorable time with family, friends, and neighbors. We are so looking forward to the completion of the Lanai. e added space will be a welcomed site, as we plan for the continued growth of clubs, classes, interest groups and private parties.
