Needle Me
e holidays are over and we are beginning yet another year.
I'm sure that we are all familiar with Dolly Parton's song Coat of Many Colors and the
story behind that colorful garment. Can you imagine curling up under a beautiful afghan
made from many different colored squares? Sounds very cozy, doesn't it?
A few months ago we let the community know about a community blanket project for
patients at the Riverside University Medical Center Palliative Care Unit. e very colorful
squares pictured in this article are just a small sample of what has already been donated
for this project. I can hardly wait to see the beautiful finished products.
You don't have to be experienced in a particular needlecra to participate in the Needle
Me group. e ladies in the group range from beginner to almost professional. If you
think you might be interested in learning how to knit, crochet, or almost any needlecra
that you can think of, we probably have someone in the group who can teach you.
Anyone is welcome to stop by to visit with us and see what projects we are all working
on. We meet on the first and fourth Friday of each month in the Arts & Cras Room at
1 pm. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Bobbie
Davis at (951) 223-3836 or Merilyn Burnside at (951) 658-8310.
