8 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JANUARY 2024 | e Ticketing Team… If you ever wonder how some folks got the "good" tables for social gatherings, they, like many others, arrived in the early (not early but, very early) hours before the ticket sales are scheduled to start. ey all arrive with their folding chair and a mug of coffee for the 8 o'clock sale start time. ey want to designate their favorable table. Concerts on the plaza go through many seating configurations to give the audience "choice" seatings. Contrary to what some people say, members of the Social Committee do not have seating preferences but have to get in line early just like everyone else. Here is where the ticketing team comes into play: aside from collecting checks or credit card information, reconciling and auditing the selected tables, they perform matchmaking duties. If folks do not need a full table, our ticket takers can marry singleton and doubleton requests to available seats at partially selected tables. ere is much to be gained from these dedicated volunteers. So, the story is, come early and join the mini-party while selecting your seats/table. Happy New Year! It is that time again when we need to make a (few) resolution(s). So, what is a resolution? Is it a promise? Or, is it a wish? It could be an answer? But it is a decision. Aer assessing the past year, one looks forward to making a change for the better in the upcoming year. A decision to change a behavior and keep it. I think it was Ben Franklin who said if you repeat a behavior 30 times in a row it becomes a "habit." (If you are like me, I never developed a habit but broke many before they got started.) Here's to you to make a few wishes for the new year. Wishing each other a "Happy New Year" dates back hundreds of years. e greeting has gone through many changes and adapted to various religions and cultures. Although the reasons and ways of celebrating may differ, the main meaning of this day - hope for a new beginning and the wish for good to loved ones - remains the same. Happy New Year! Coming soon… (Jan. 3, 10, 17, 24, 31) Wednesday Bingo Nights, (Jan. 5) First Friday TGIF - Karaoke, (Jan. 14) Brunch at the Bistro, (Jan. 24) Open Session Board Meeting, (Jan. 20 and 21) Bid Whist: Martin Luther King Evenings of Live Entertainment.
