FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2024 29 As most of you know, ARC articles tend to be on topics that are issues at the current time. Very often the issue arises because of a campaign by a vendor pushing their product. An interest is created, and homeowners see the value of the product. Some of the homes in our community are aging to the point that some major features require replacement and/or conversion to another type of system to meet the need. Among these are heating, cooling, and windows. If you are considering replacing either of these items, please be advised that an ARC application is required. You will also need to secure Beaumont City building permits. It does not matter if you are replacing one heater/air conditioner with the same type, you will need ARC approval as well as a city permit. The same is true with windows. If you are replacing windows with the same size and type, an ARC application is required. If you are changing the type of window or heating/cooling system, the process is the same. ARC will work with you to make the process as easy as possible. One last comment – please be wary of who you hire to do your work. Unlicensed handymen/contractors are not allowed to do any work that is added to your house or yard that exceeds $400. If you are getting a cut-rate price, you are undoubtedly getting cut-rate work and product. ~ Steve Cooley, (801) 815-5302, cooleyaudit@gmail. com Architectural Review Committee Facilities Committee Cheers to new beginnings — 2024 is here! But before we move forward, we are pleased to report a few of our completed projects for 2023 which include: beautiful new Theater seating, refinished Game Room tables, new televisions for the Game and Billiard Rooms, new Salon chairs, Lodge pool canopies, and many other repair and replacement projects. The Facilities Committee has several large projects on the agenda for 2024 including new carpeting in the Ballroom, Game Room, and Billiards Room, and replastering of The Lodge spa. Also, on the table for discussion in 2024 will be the resurfacing of The Lodge pool/spa area, Lodge pool coping, and resurfacing the Loggia and compass areas at The Lodge. We'd like to thank our Board of Directors and FirstService for their guidance and support of our committee along with our volunteer Facilities Committee members. Committee members continue to actively monitor facility areas to determine the need for repairs and/or replacement of specific facility assets. As always, we encourage resident input. We wish all residents a very happy and prosperous New Year. We meet the second Wednesday of each month at 9 am in the RCN Conference Room. ~ Lila Bonner, Regina Farmer, and Deborah Wasbotten
