58 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2024 Happy New Year to all from your Four Seasons Pickleball Club! Wishing everyone a healthy and prosperous New Year filled with lotsa pickleball. Our club had an incredible 2023. We had so many old (and I don't mean actual age) players return after a pandemic hiatus. The most exciting news is we had MANY new players take the plunge and acquire the healthy addiction of pickleball play. With the amazing growth of our club, our fantastic steering committee is always striving to make our time on the courts more fun and accommodate beginners, intermediate, and advanced play. If you have any suggestions, please don't hesitate to let any of the steering committee members know your thoughts. I want to express gratitude to one of our members, Jeromee Liebenberg (photo inset). He has been a member since the conception of this club. Not only has he been a member, he has been an active steering committee member so long he couldn't even tell me how long. We concluded it probably is around seven years which means he has volunteered to coach so many beginning pickleball players on our courts; we would be lost without him. I know he was the guy who came out one late Saturday morning and showed me and my husband Jim how to play. I believe he's responsible for our addiction to pickleball and we are forever grateful. Jeromee is stepping down from the committee, for a well deserved break from the extra time spent in the committee. Please don't fret — our one and only Nancy Hessin is gonna fill those big shoes. I know we will be in great hands with Nancy and will absolutely still see Jeromee on the courts hopefully more often than ever. Finally, I want to remind everyone about our new and large kiosk as you're approaching the pickleball courts. Please notice it, look at it, check it for any and all information. If you want to start playing, you can find out information about how to start. If you are active players, there is always good information about current events or even the game itself. We had a good year with great turnouts throughout the year. We added some new players and we continue to have fun out there socializing and having a good time. Bocce Ball is played at The Summit on two green courts overlooking the surrounding valley with beautiful views. We play Tuesdays at 9 am and Fridays at 9 am. Hopefully we'll see you out there having some fun throwing the Bocce ball around. If you are interested in learning the game,please join us.
