66 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2024 Our monthly championships continue to be nail biters and November lived up to the hype! The difference will be how our club will acknowledge monthly winners now and in the future. We will first acknowledge the player(s) who win(s) the most number of games for the month as that month's champion(s). Second, we will acknowledge the secondary ("runner up") winner of the final match, which is played during the last play date for that month. Our November's championship ended in a two-way tie between Vernon Bell and Jesse Dimmer. Both players equally won the most number of games for November. Congratulations to Vernon and Jesse, Dominoes champions for November! Next, congratulations to Vernon Bell, the secondary (or runner-up) winner of the final match set for November. Vernon won the most games during that match against three other elite players. Both Jesse and Vernon have won monthly championships in the past. They are truly excellent players, and really nice guys, too. But, don't let those smiles fool you. Both gentlemen play a mean, cut-throat game. Future competitors look out! That said, "bring it on" will be the mantra for all other Club players for December. Let's see who wins next month. The Dominoes Club plays every Wednesday and Friday from 6 to 9 pm in the Game Room. We welcome more players, whether new to the game or experienced, to come out and join us for an enjoyable time "slamming bones." Novice players are encouraged to come out from 5 to 6 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays to learn the game. There have been the usual 'faithfuls' but we would love to see more join us to play this fun game. Snacks are provided. The goal is to complete the 10 phases that are established for the game one round at a time. These phases include 'sets' of cards (all the same number) and 'runs' (cards in a sequence). There are also Wild cards and Skip cards during play. Thank you for your support. At this writing I am still undergoing rehab for my back fracture but Lynette Smilac has graciously stepped in.
