Farewell to Friends
John "Jack" Morton Dexter was born to John and Dorothy Dexter on June
18, 1939 in Wilmington, California and graduated from Banning High School in 1957.
After three months of courtship, Jack and Jeannie secretly eloped on November 30, 1958. He
had three children. Robyn was born in 1960, followed by Paul in 1966, and Jennifer in 1969.
A building contractor by trade, he built many of the patio covers, decks and gazebos around
Orange County, where he and Jeannie lived many years.
At the age of 33, Jack read the Gospel of John, Chapter 1, and his life was changed after
discovering that Jesus was not just a man, but God in the flesh. After that, he boldly talked to
anyone about Jesus who would listen.
In the 1980s, Jack pastored churches in Lake Elsinore, Calif., and Dayton, Ohio. He soon
realized that evangelism was his true gift and was led into prison ministry with Jeannie, for
which they traveled to 38 states and four countries.
Jack and Jeannie settled in Beaumont, California in 2008, where his company was known
as Cutting Edge Patios. They enjoyed 15 years together here at Four Seasons before he passed
on Nov. 21, 2023. Jack was blessed with eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, to
whom he has passed down a beautiful legacy of living for Christ.
