Colony Chorus By Ken Luekens To Colony neighbors and friends, thank you. ank you for your great support for the Chorus Christmas Concert. Saturday was well attended, and almost a sellout. Sunday was beyond a sellout. We had to move in chairs from the lounge and hallway. We hope you all enjoyed the music as much as we enjoyed singing. Music is a special gi to everyone. Singers love to sing, musicians love to play, and pretty much everyone likes to hear music. As this concert demonstrated, there are many styles, possibly something for everyone. We're already working on our concert for spring, and the theme for it will be the Beatles. Speaking of many styles, the Beatles recorded 213 songs — 188 originals and 25 covers. We may have a tough time figuring out what to leave in and what to leave out. Concert dates will be the last weekend of April, the evening of Saturday the 27th and the aernoon of Sunday the 28th. If you love to sing, now would be a great time to consider joining the chorus. Practice begins on ursday, Jan. 18, at 9 am. But wait! ere's more. We know that some newer, younger residents are still working, or are only partly retired. We are considering ways to accommodate those kinds of schedules. But wait! ere's still more — the seating arrangement. e cabaret seating on Saturday was very popular. We will try to provide that when possible. Because Sunday attendance is typically higher, we must stay with standard auditorium-style seating. Again, thank you Colony residents for supporting the Chorus. Happy New Year to everybody! Our January class will be held in the Annex from 9 am to 12:30 pm on ursday, Jan. 25. We welcome beginners as well as advanced students. Our subject will be something fun to paint, so gather your art supplies and join us. She is an Associate Artist Member of the California Art Club and active in the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association. Sunny enjoys painting in SoCal outdoors, as well as studio sessions. She and her husband moved to Murrieta aer residing in San Diego for 20 years. In the past year, she has continued to exhibit in national shows, in addition to weekly painting sessions with Laguna Beach friends. She also continues to meet with her Laguna Beach Plein Air group.
