26 | OHCC LIVING | JANUARY 2024 | I hope that you all enjoyed our Holiday Concert in December. We had been working on it for two years because of our last- minute cancellation due to a COVID outbreak among some of the members of the Chorale. It was decided that we would present the same program that we had been rehearsing last year for this year's performance. It allowed our director and singers to fine tune the program to the wonderful concert that I hope we performed. As I have to write this early, we are still a week away from performing it, but precautions have been taken to prevent a recurrence of last year's cancellation. Also, remember that on Sat., Jan. 13, it's Do Dues Day. Please come out and consider joining our family of singers. Rehearsals are at 10:15 am every ursday and last until noon. You really don't have to be a trained singer or performer to participate. If you love to sing, we would love to have you. If you want to sit in on a rehearsal and decide if you are interested, that is perfectly alright also. We will be starting rehearsals for our Spring Concert in February. Please consider joining the Choral Society on Do Dues Day and experience the joy of music. ~ Written by: Jack Shabel Choral Society Pet Lovers 3rd Annual Presents for Pets PLC President Ellen Kippel reports that on Dec. 2, Mitchie Adams, Maria McSweeney, Gail Hyams, Karen Hastings and I gathered at my home to put together the 44 holiday gi bags for our 3rd annual AniMeals Holiday "Presents for Pets." What a fun morning we had doing this great project and imagining the happiness these will bring to oen home-bound seniors and their pets. Here is the picture with the five of us with the gi bags. My dog Dawn tried to do her part, but was so sneaky she stole one of the chews from a bag. Please sign up or renew your PLC membership on "Do Dues Day" or leave the check in the PLC envelope at the front desk. Please note on the check whether this is a new or renewing membership. $6 for one person, $10 per household. You don't have to wait till Do Dues Day on Jan. 13. You can leave your check at the Clubhouse front desk. Please include information on all members in your household (names, phone numbers and email addresses). Mark your calendars for a special PLC Day on May 17. May is the month when all clubs are invited to participate in the OHCC 40th anniversary events.
