Bring your checkbook and stop in to chat with S & W Board members and volunteers. Still just $10 to join! Remember you can always renew your membership or start a new one anytime at the Clubhouse desk. Just drop off your check made out to the Swim & Wellness Club. Include all of your contact information. Our first meeting of the year will be on Wed., Jan. 24 at 1:30 pm in Abravanel Hall. We are working to narrow down an interesting topic in the wellness area. Check the cabinet at the pool for more information and watch your email for details. Member Spotlight: If you've ever considered attending one of the Aqua Fitness classes at OHCC, talk to S & W club member Jerilee Laughlin (named aer her father Jerry Lee). Jeri will convince you! She is passionate about her three day a week water exercise class with instructor Leesa Singer. Jeri boasts about the challenging aquatic workout, combined with the friendships and camaraderie she has found among the other loyal attendees. Jeri was raised in Phoenix and her family moved to the San Diego area when she was a teen. Aer high school, she furthered her interest in the tourism industry by becoming a certified travel consultant, elite cruise counselor and paralegal. Eventually Jeri became the Director of Travel Services for a continuing education institute in Las Vegas. Here, she enjoyed planning and coordinating continuing education for large groups of professionals. She also managed three travel agencies and traveled to many places through those connections. Twelve years ago, Jeri moved in with her parents in Carlsbad when they began to need more help. In 2018, the secure and vibrant community of OHCC beckoned. Jeri's mom has since passed away but Jeri continues to care for her dad. She has two children, a son in Nashville and a daughter in Poway, plus three young grandkids. In addition to her love for our beautiful pool, Jeri enjoys a daily outing with pup Bella at the dog park. She's also a member of Doo Wop and Boomers. Jeri hopes to add golf and pickleball to her schedule in 2024. Residents, please remember the pool rules about children. Kids must be at least five years old to be in the pool or in the pool area. Children's hours are 11 am to 2 pm on weekdays, and 11 am to 3 pm on weekends. Pick up a current pool schedule from the racks next to the clubhouse desk. ~ Written by: Sara Stewart, VP | OHCC LIVING | JANUARY 2024 | 45 Swim & Wellness Club Any idea who this morning lap swimmer might be?
