We've been operating as an informal group for almost four years and have a membership of over 100 residents of OHCC! Our purpose remains the same: To love, support, and bring the widows of OHCC together through the power of healthy social connections to build resilience, strength, and courage. At the last membership meeting we had a speaker from an ElderHelp of San Diego. eir non-profit mission for 50 years is to help seniors remain independent and live with dignity in their own homes. Sarah Benson, the Executive Director, told us about the programs and services that support San Diego County's seniors and especially "solo agers" such as care coordination, transportation, or housing needs. If they don't know the answer, they know who does. Club W has membership meetings nine times a year and a monthly newsletter with information on events such as luncheons, fun and games, theatre trips, and potlucks. Membership is $10 per year. If you want more information on membership, ask the front desk for a Club W membership form or request one by e-mail OHCCWidows@gmail.com. ~ Written by: Lynn Murphy Inspiration Hill As we walk the trail at Inspiration Hill, we are always impressed by the varied community inspirations as expressed on the Donor Bricks. e trail begins by honoring our pioneer OHCC Founders, and continues with those who so bravely served us. ere are bricks honoring family members, beloved pets, and favorite universities.
