| OHCC LIVING | JANUARY 2024 | 37 e annual pre-anksgiving RV trip is anticipated by many RV Club members who enjoy a few days away at a near-by location to relax, mingle and have some fun before end of the year Holidays set in. Golden Village Palms RV Resort in Hemet was the chosen venue this year as it is modern, has nice amenities and could accommodate our 84 attendees inside a well-appointed Clubhouse area for meals and activities. anksgiving is a good trip for newcomers and it was nice to meet several new members venturing out on their first RV Club trip, too! e Peppes, Mares and Langs arranged a variety of activities to keep things lively. e Pickleball courts were well used in the beautiful fall weather and participants and observers alike competed and cheered throughout the entertaining Senior Olympic Games! ere were also moments for tasting scotch and tequila. Popular too, was the Margarita machine accompanying an authentic taco buffet feast. Live music, terrific meals topped off by a traditional turkey dinner, mixed in with socialization, games, cras and even axe throwing, all contributed to a great trip. Jan Kawal and her enthusiastic Social Committee did a fantastic job to add a bit of spice to our December Snowball Christmas Party. ere were yummy gourmet apps, ample bubbly, hand dipped strawberries and a beautifully decorated Abravanel Hall. It certainly helped to kick off a festive holiday season for all! When considering your plans for 2024, it might be a good time to consider if the RV Club should be on your list of 2024 activities. It is an easy sign-up on Do Dues Day or fill out an application and leave a check at the front desk. Looking ahead to 2024, the plans include a Jan. 19 - 27 pop-up to funky Quartzite, AZ with all the other RV shoppers and junkies, followed by some fun time in Mesa, AZ. Or, catch some Wildflower blooms in March out in lonesome Borrego Springs or try your luck casting at near-by Santee Lakes in May. How about a great Wyoming adventure in August? at mixed in with enjoyable social activity locally and adventuresome people makes for a great club.
