| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JANUARY 2024 | 45 Caregiver Support Group HAPPY NEW YEAR! I wish each of you a happy and healthy 2024. I hope those of you who have been thinking of attending one of our meetings will start the New Year off and join us. We have so much to offer. Diane Stone and Doug Dean facilitate the meeting. There are guest speakers every few months with information that you need and will learn from. We also have a program in the Arts & Crafts Room that will entertain your loved one so you don't have to leave him or her home alone. We have live entertainment, do exercises, play games and do just about anything to keep your loved one happy so you can enjoy the meeting and not worry about him or her. Come check us out! Our next meeting and support group will be on Thurs., Jan 18 at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Our guest speaker this month will be Darlene Merkler. Her topic will be "Is It Aging Or Dementia?" Darlene has 36 years of experience working in senior healthcare and having been a primary caregiver for her mother and father, she understands that caring for a loved one can be overwhelming. She has worked in Adult Day Care, Alzheimer's Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Continuing Care Retirement, Hospice, and Consulting. Darlene worked with Riverside County on Aging where she helped to develop the Care Pathways Program. This is one speaker you don't want to miss. Thank you to Tin Man's Heart who entertained our loved ones during our holiday party in December. This month The Kahula Lei Lani dancers return. These are three very special and talented ladies. If you have any questions, would like to learn more about Memory Loss, or would like reading material that we can loan you, call Diane at (951) 765-7460, Doug at (360) 840-5559 or me, Anne at (951) 845- 8700.
